Exercise & Sports Science Student Placement
Motus Life has an exciting opportunity for Exercise & Sports Science students to undertake a Strength & Conditioning 12 Week Placement Program. This opportunity is open to 2nd & 3rd year Exercise & Sports Science Students (2024).
Who are we:
Motus Life is a community hub for health, lifestyle & sports performance with a multimodality facility currently encompassing Osteopathy, Exercise Physiology, Strength & Conditioning, Yoga, Meditation, Pilates & Recovery.
We partner with multiple sporting clubs around Melbourne, providing strength and conditioning and injury assessment and management. We’re looking to expand our services to cater to these exciting partnerships, as well as, broaden our scope and keep us progressing as an Allied Health team.
Placement Student will learn from and assist the Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Exercise Physiologists, Osteopaths and Physiotherapists at Motus Life to deliver health and performance interventions both within the facility and with our External Partners.
Assist in the running of semi-private training sessions
Assist Coaches with our External Partnerships and to implement high quality Strength &
Assist Coaches in delivering performance testing
Majority of hours would be shadowing/helping coaches on gym floor during sessions.
By week 3 you will be confident to coach a warm up.
Undertake a Capstone Project
Fortnightly workshops on Wednesdays, including topics such as:
- How to run performance testing
- Philosophy and coaching the Motus Warm Up
- Attentional Focus
- How to coach Squat, Bench, Deadlift
Desire to progress in the S&C Industry
Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn in an environment that may challenge
Capable of creating and maintain positive and constructive relationships with both staff and members.
Demonstrates initiative in problem solving
Experience in conducting performance testing desired (e.g. force plates and timing gates)
Level 2 First Aid & CPR
Working with Children Check
